In 1898 the small mountain village of Wilhelmstal was founded by German colonists. The place became the seat of an imperial district office (kaiserliches Bezirksamt) and had around 200 residents. In 2012 Lushoto had around 28,000 residents. The town is located 1378 meters above sea level in the west of the Usambara Mountains.

Yes that is the new airport of Istanbul. The older one on the Europe side of the city closed as the new opened. There is also an airport on the Asian side, but idk how long that was open
